Hi neighbors,
We realize that not every neighbor will want to be a Host or a Wanderer. Some may just want to hang out in their driveway or on their front porch and simply visit with their neighbors who stop by.
We will have neighbors who can’t participate during the party because they have other commitments.
One way we could potentially all enjoy the experience together is to hire a DJ who can broadcast a party playlist that any neighbor can play at their home. We can all share the same tunes as we wander. If possible, the DJ will be able to take song requests during the evening!
We have gathered some ideas for the Festival that could be done over the whole week leading up to our Peacock Festival.
Coloring contest
Offer different coloring pages for different age groups.
Neighbors can post their creations outside their house where neighbors can view them and vote for their favorites.
Award prizes by age category based on votes received.
Pass out an art walk map before the party so judges can find all the houses with artwork to be viewed.
Decorate your face mask contest.
Scavenger Hunt
Publish a list of items to find on our three streets.
Items would be located in front yards and easy to see from the street or driveway. Examples might be Find a birdhouse made by Bob, Find a stuffed animal or doll on a porch.
Write down the house humber for each item when you find it.
Correctly answered game sheets will be eligible for a prize.
House Decorating
Decorate your home in your own version of peacock style!
Let us know if you would like to be involved in doing or creating any of these ideas. More ideas are welcome too. It will be fun to have your party reflect as many of our neighbors as possible. Just leave a Comment. Thank you.
Thank you,
Jan & Donnie
